With none of the FTSE 100’s current CEOs, Chairs or CFOs embodying any black ethnicity whatsoever, race inclusion today is in reverse, now at its lowest level since 2013. In our complacency, the far right (or alt right) are visibly succeeding at working to remove uniqueness from our societies and businesses.
The Far Right agenda use ‘Freedom of Expression’ as an excuse to promote highly xenophobic, anti-LGBTQ, anti-feminist, anti-difference and often anti-women mantras. Mainstream politicians are using nationalistic rhetoric to win votes from the far right, multiplying their active campaigners at an alarming rate all around the world, as well as, giving them newfound confidence and strength - not seen since the abolition of slavery.
Their agenda works by rapidly colonising the institutions that govern our societies and the businesses that service us within the UK. In short, our society - founded in freedom, tolerance and democracy - is under attack.
World leaders, and indeed most businesses, seem unwilling or unable to mount the adequate response, power and momentum necessary to offer any resistance and implement positive change. They choose instead to play to the unpopular, rather than empowering the oppressed.
Fortunately, there is still time to implement everlasting change, but only if we act now and boldly:
